I'm going to Guatemala
I have been given an opportunity to participate with Side-By-Side in a 10 day mission trip to Guatemala, March 3rd through 12th. The purpose of the trip is to construct a school building for the people in the highlands of San Lucas Toleman, Guatemala and actively become involved in the lives of the cities youth.
I have few construction skills and know very little of the native language. Thats okay because there will be translators and construction workers amoungst those of us going on the trip. A total of 24 of us will be going to assist with construction as well as interact with the community. Building materials have been provided and shipped by a local Kansas City construction company that works with Side-By-Side to make the construction possible.
